The Baby Boom Generation

If you are in the 45 to 65 year old age group, this is to you. 

Did you know that this age group is growing faster than any other age group? That over the next 25 years the global population aged 65 and above is projected to grow by almost a million people a month? According to the U.S. census, by the year 2030, the number of Americans above the age of 85 is expected to be four times as great as it was in 1990. 

Many people are now having to take another look at their retirement plans. For people currently ready to retire or the have retired, the value of their retirement portfolio is probably not where they planned or would like due to the financial markets downturn. The monthly income they had planned on having is now not there. For these people they have some options. First, they could either go back to work or continue working past their planned retirement date if allowed. Or they could retire and live on less per month from their investments. Some might choose to retire and find a part time job. None seem to be good options for a person who has worked all their life, looking forward to traveling, relaxing, and enjoying their retirement years. 

To compound the problem for this age group is the cost of living day to day; a cost that seems to be increasing faster than their income. Health and medical costs will continue to rise, college tuition is more than ever before, energy cost for home heating and cooling, gas for cars, prescriptions, groceries, insurance, and on and on, just keep going up. 

The vast majority of this age group live in homes that were built before the 60's. This home is probably not very well insulated, causing higher heating and cooling cost than you would like. Usually the home does not have enough lighting or closet space. The kids have moved out now, leaving you to rake, mow, clean gutters, paint and repair or replace appliances, replace roofs, maintain constant electrical and plumbing problems, etc. 

The larger home is not really needed, and the steps are really getting to be a hazard going upstairs or downstairs to do clothes washing.
